Well, it all starts with Jordan being sick all week with a cold..
He has been taking panadol for the week and i thought it was about time he shouldn't be taking it and he should be getting better...
It can be hard to get into see my Dr. sometimes and our hospital has an After Hours GP service.. So why not use it... (plus it saves the $46 my Dr. charges)
So i made an appointment for him and got in at 7pm..
I took him in and we saw the Dr. straight away.. He told me the panadol is fine, but he does seem to have a bit of an ear infection (which we didn't realise, cause it didn't seem to cause him any trouble!!) so we have antibiotics for that.. He also told me that he has a touch of asthma & a bit of excema... Great, Brendan is a chronic astmatic & Dan gets it too...
He gave me the antibiotics straight away, but we had to find a chemist to get him a puffer...
Anyhow, we went int BigW and hurried in (as Jordan had his pj's, dressing gown & beanie on) and grabbed it and headed home..
We got home & i gave him some medicine & some panadol and then he lied down on my bed to watch a dvd.. I changed into my pj's & made some toast..
I had just sat down to do some net surfing when the phone rang. It was a surprise, as it was just after 9pm... (i had really only been home 15mins)
It was mum.. She was saying that Nan needed to go to the hospital as her leg had flarred up again & only within an hour... Mum didn't have a car as Stephen had it at work..
My Nan is 75, but thinks she is 275..
She has Macular Degeneration, but she is also SELECTIVE deaf & blind too.. lol
She has had a problem with her left leg for 10mths now, they seem to think that she has Cellulitis. But it is not just ON her skin, it is inside her skin too, in the blood stream too..
She lives in a Hostel & even though it is next door to the (local) hospital, they aren't connected AT ALL!!!!!!
Our local hospital is HOPELESS/PATHETIC and that is putting it nicely..
It really is just a ward for the elderly, like a nursing home... It doesn't even have deliveries, children or 'elective' surgery.... If you go there, nothing seems to happen or get done..
I have taken Dan up there before in the middle of the night with an Asthma attack & it took 3hrs to get seen to and then the Dr. did NOTHING!!!! We have about 5 doctors in Kurri and none of them are worth going to .. Hence why i go to a Dr. out of town....
Anyhow, Nan has been up there twice in the last couple of months, staying for at least 5wks at a time.. And she still has the problem..
So, as soon as mum said she had to go to hospital, we both said she was going straight to Maitland no matter what!!!! (mum works there too.. )
We picked Nan up & took her in. Seen the triage nurse and we were sent straight into ED to wait to see a Dr. This was at 10.30pm....
As you can see from my previous post (2 ago!!) we didn't see the Dr. till 3.50am and we then didn't leave the hospital till about 5.45am....
So as you can see, i was buggered that day... lol
I have to go now, work is finally finished... ( i have done all 'my' work.. lol)..
I'll do an update probably in the next day or two with how Nan is going...
Thanks for reading my rave...
See ya... :o)

I hope your nan is improving Peta. Working in Emergenecy I can relate to the wait you had, its not much fun, but at least you were dealt with fairly quickly after you actually got into the department :)
Hugs

Poor Jordan! I hope your poppet picks up super fast!
What an exhausting time you've had of late with hospitals and your family (I can kinda relate *sigh*) How's your nan doing now?
