just a bit of a rave..

Hi,
Just popping in to say hi.. I don't seem to get here as much as i would like to. I know i will kick myself later on, way down the track when i want to check on things and ive been so slack & not been in here...

Baby is going well, but i guess i don't really say much in here about that either, slack-arse mum i am. But baby does have his/her own blog, so that gets more attention than here... *ooppss*

House is slowly coming on..
Its hard to believe that a little bit of rain (well, it wasn't a little bit) could do so much damage and cause so much stress..
The boys room has been gutted & lined. Brendan is up to the painting side of it, only just sealed it this week, but thats a start.
Went up & pick the carpet out this morning and thats now on order.
Built-in has been measured & quoted and that has been ordered too..
THANK GOODNESS for insurance is all i can say..................
i know we have had to wait well over 4mths for it all to get started and i have had so many problems with the house & stress from it all (plus with the baby too), at least i am grateful that it has started.
The area was so badly damaged here & around us, that some people still don't have homes to go to. I have never seen such rain/damage in all of my life (& neither has alot of older people around us) and i never want to see it again.
I have got some photos of the walls in the boys room (not of the actuall flood, :o( ) but im at work at the moment, so if i remember, i'll share them..

Our old fence was ripped out & down today, BOY what a big job that was. The new one comes on Monday & Tuesday, yippppeeeeee..

Im still stressing myself out about the whole house thing and hoping everything falls into place for when the baby arrives, but theres nothing i can do about that really.. But in true form of me, i can't stop the stressing...
I don't have a 'baby checkup' till the 16th of this month, so i need to try & stop my worry.. Hopefully when we go for that checkup i'll get to book in for another scan, as Cheryl wants me to have a 'growth scan' to make sure everything is ok (cause of the tablets i take, but shhhhhhhhh don't tell her, i didn't have to have these scans with Tay, Dan or Jordi..lol..)

Oh & im 25wks & 1 day today......... :o)

We got some bad news today... My nan found out today she has Ovarian Cancer. I still don't think its sunk in properly yet. She's been sick for a little while now & waiting on the test results, plus she has Macular Degeneration (which she's had for ages/a couple of years) so that doesn't help her much. But her news isn't very good. They are booking her into hospital straight away and will then look when they get in, to see if it has spread at all??
Its all a bit worrying too, as my mum had Cervical Cancer when she was 33, twice. So its something that is going to have to be always looked into & after..

Anyhow im raving now, sorry bout that..

I went with the guys from the office today to buy plates & cutlery etc. for our new kitchen here at work. We will probably be spending about $20,000. just on that sort of thing. We are getting 700 of each size plate & folk/knife/spoon, etc. Then there's the pots & pans, carving knives, utensils, etc.. You don't realise how much there is actually to buy when starting up something like this.. Even though we already have everything. We are still buying EVERYTHING brand new, as we want to impress with a clean, fresh new start. Spending 2 million dollars, we hope to impress.. lol

Well i best go, only an hour before i can go home..
have a great weekend
love Peta..xx

Well guess whot!!!!

We have just had our building approved by NRMA, YIPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!! this morning...
We are so excited, we just can't believe that it has finally come through. Its been 4mths today (by date) and we really have been living in a 2 bedroom house for the past and boy has it been hectic and a PITA..
At least now, we can finally see the end of the tunnel. Its going to be all steam ahead though...
Our bathroom will finally be finished this week, YIPPPEEE fingers crossed (just waiting for the glass to be installed)..
The boys bedroom will be underway soon, then new carpet & a new built-in, our loungroom will be repaired and renovated & hopefully when we rip up our carpet the floorboards are the same (perfect) ones that we have in our family room.
We are getting a new fence down one side of the house and then paint the outside of the house & Taylor & our bedrooms AND THEN hopefully, put the house on the market!!!!!!!!!!!!! fingers crossed.... hopefully....
i just can't believe that we are finally getting the boys b/r done!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And i think i over did it a bit today. I moved the computer & desk (big timber desk) out of the lounge room and into our family room today, big job (& dusty too, my gosh ) and then felt really off.. So went and lied in a warm bath for about an hour..
Think i'll have a day at home tomorrow and get some more clearing & clean out done, bit by bit, while i have the kids at home with me..

ok, rave over with.. Just had to share it, i am so excited i can't believe that it is FINALLY happening!!!

Still here....

Well after such torential rain for the past 48hrs we are still here.. We thought we were going to have to get the Ark out, but thankfully things have started to ease off now.

But it sure was scary...

this photo i have 'borrowed' off the Newcastle ABC website.. It doesn't state where its at, but it could so easily be around here..

after getting some groceries this morning (incase we need to stock the Ark) and before any more rain trapped us, i did a quick whizz past the local park down the road..
this part is EXTREMELY popular. It is just a hollow inbetween 2 towns, but the coucil finally did something worthwhile a couple of years ago and fixed all the drainage, made new ponds, put in bbq area's, toilets and an excellent park area for the kids. Also they put a walkway around the whole thing, that is really popular with walkers (me being one of those!!!)
SO, we were saying last night, how we wondered how it faired with the extreme heavy rain, as we haven't had anything like this in years & years...

back from the unknown...

Well today i had to go through 1000's & 1000's of files all stored in the back docks of my new computer to find an important address. And guess what i found while there??????????

Here.............

lol
so, just thought i'd post in here again and see how things go...
i might have a go at updating this better now that i am back online as there just seems to be so much (even more) things going on around here that it is a good place to vent...

Now that we are back in the land of the Wide World of Web, i should be able to do some updating, but DON'T hold me to it... :o)

ok, now that i have found here, i have to go, i have to go to bed...
:o)

its so heartbreaking...

i have been lurking a bit on the Photography boards over at EB and some of the girls there are members at another forum as well..
They were telling us about the poor little girl that passed away on Monday after fighting for her life for 2 days. She had accidently locked herself in her parents car and no one could find her for half an hour. What was 36 degrees outside that day, was 60 degrees inside the car...
My heart just breaks when hearing/seeing stories like this..
I just can't imagine what her parents & family must be going through...

Here is a bit of a story from a family friend....

The above banner is courtesy of Carrie Young....
My colleague and amazing photographer Sheye Rosemeyer, lost her 3 year old daughter last night. It was a horrible tragic accident. She got locked in the family's black car which was parked outside in the full 36 degree sun and no one could find her for half an hour of panic stricken terror. The grandparents live next door and it is normal for the kids to flit between their house and home. Sheye said that Ava was being mischeivious as little kids are...and told Grandad she was going home but really she got in the car. Mom & Dad thought she was at Grandad's, he thought she was at home and by the time she was discovered she had been in a 60 degree car for too long. She fought bravely for two days in an induced coma but lost her battle last night. I can't even imagine the horror that family is feeling right now and their despair. The worst of it is, this is the fourth child this month in Australia. So please, hold your kids a little closer and tighter today and then take them outside and teach them to blow the car horn...hard and long if they are ever stuck in one. Sheye said she could go over the what ifs forever but the reality is, she can't take the last 72 hours back, all she can do is say to other parents, please teach your little one's to not play in cars, always lock the doors when you get out and show them where the horn is.

Please give your loved ones that extra special hug & kiss every moment you see them....xx

back to school

Well, Tuesday the kids went back to school...

how exciting it all was too... Daniel cried he didnt want to get Miss Higson and Taylor was hoping she didn't get a male teacher!!!
Well, just like last years hopes for who we got & didn't get and then all our worse wishes came true, this year, EXACTLY the same!!!!!
I was a bit worried about Daniel as he really really didn't want Miss H and then he did, but when i picked him up in the afternoon, he said she was great....
Taylor didn't have Mr. Sergon until the next day and she said, HE IS FANTASTIC, HE IS SOOOOOOOO COOL.... He is the best teacher there, so she says..
So it all worked out great in the end.
Both the kids didn't get any of there immediate friends in there class though, but i say thank goodness for that....
Taylor did great last year in the 'special class' and in saying that, i don't mean 'special'. I mean she was picked out year 3 to go into a year 4 class cause she is a smart cookie. So now that she has done all year 4 work last year and going into Year 4 this year will be interesting to see how things work and what sort of work she will do...

Dan did great last year, but he has too many fans.. You know how it is being SOOOOOOOO popular and all with the opposite sex you just can't help these things... lol Well not this year buddy, he has to tell the chicks to lay off a bit and put that little bit extra work in..
Not wanting to 'compare' the 2, but with Taylor being way off the charts last year doing the Basic Skills Test, it will be interesting to see how Dan goes with it this year...

Jordan started back at Pre-school this year. They do the first day in 2 shifts and this being his second year there, he got the 2nd shift. Which was just perfect as we could take Tay & Dan to school and then have time to spend with Jordan. It was going to be a bit of a worry with Tom (his bestest mate) not being there this year, but thankfully we saw him in the morning at the 'big school' and he was fine with that...
There was only a hand full of kids at pre-school when we got there (he started at 12.30pm) and only 3 other boys that he knew from last year... Riley being one of them and he was happy with that....
Now he doesn't go back till Monday next week, but thankfully he loves school too and enjoys he's 2 days at pre-school...
I can't believe my baby will be at big school next year, i am SO not looking forward to that...

Dancing starts next week..
as much as im looking forward to the kids getting back into some moving stuff and my dancing too, im not too keen to start the whole running around & $$$ side of it...
Taylor is starting guitar lessons on Tuesday, so thats an extra thing to run around too. Thankfully we was able (thanks Dad) to find someone in Kurri. She has given up Tap this year, but is still doing Jazz...
We have our timetable all worked out, but just have to wait for Soccer & Netball to start and then try & slot them in too....

Monday, Daniel, Jordan & I took Mum to Sydney to see her Dr.
I was worried about the trip home, because if he hadn't of gave mum good news she would of killed him.. But thankfully, he is happy with how her hand/wrist is going and she is now allowed to drive. THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!! she has been really depressed lately (more than usual) cause of her wrist.. He doesn't want to see her for 6mths now, so thats good...
The boys LOVED there visit to the big city.. Jordan though the Monorail was just the best and he couldn't get over how big CentrePoint was, it frightened him a bit when he first looked up at it from standing RIGHT underneath it when we got off the monorail..
He also thought it was great when we went over the Harbour Bridge...

Australia Day..

Love it or Leave it....

as John Laws would say... :o)

Lets all see the flags flying high on our beautiful Australian soil for Australia day....
Happy Australian Day to everyone, i hope everyone is out enjoying themselves and celebrating what is very important to us all..
me... im at work... Doing the right thing by little Johnny and putting in the hard yard to make ends meet for my family... I know, don't get me started on that A-hole, isn't he just a treasure, NOT!!!!!!!!!

i don't mind being at work today, Friday's are pretty good around here, its air-conditioned (its bloody hot outside) and the pay rate is double & a half... Its good to make up some extra cash while i can... lol ;o)

School starts back on Tuesday and i still have a few things to get yet..
Im taking mum to Sydney on Monday (with the kids too, yes, im insane.. lol) and dancing starts in just over a weeks time, so there goes ANY money i'd hoped for... lol
Oh & soccer rego is next weekend too and without a doubt, netball rego will be the weekend after... Woohoooo the joys of parent hood!!!!!!

Gosh, no idea where that little rant came from...

Happy Australia day to everyone.....
